House Buying

The day after we got to Warner Robins we started a new journey: home buying.  If anyone knows what that is like, then you already know how stressed out I am.

Our realtor was sweet enough to take us to 6 houses on July 14th and then another 5 on July 15th.  If you haven't bought a home yet or you're starting to think about it: don't look at that many.  It sounds like a good idea but it is mentally exhausting.  You also have to take notes when looking at that many.  Lots of notes.  I never thought of this when we were thinking about buying.  But you have to.

Then comes furniture and appliances.  Now some new houses have NO appliances and others will have a few.  Thankfully we only have to buy a refrigerator and washer and a dryer.  We are also would like a new couch and new mattress.  Both have been with us since we got married (6 years) and they need to be upgraded.  They were bought at discount stores without any real shopping.  To take up all this time we know have, we have been going to furniture stores.

Again, if you plan on buying a new home and buying new furniture please think about how mentally exhausting it is to look at more than one furniture store in one day.  Maybe its our anxiety but after a few stores your brain just can't take it anymore.  We did find a few things we liked.  Earlier I mentioned buying our current furniture at discount stores. Well after going to all these stores the couch we liked best was at Big Lots!

Simple, comfy and affordable.  Home decor stores are fun to look at right now.  It helps me take my mind off all the stress of house buying.  I'm trying not to buy anything for the new house but it's getting harder and harder.  HomeGoods is my store.  I love it.  I have so many ideas and projects for this new house.  I don't know what to do with myself.

We won't close till the end of next month.  So for now we live in a hotel and there's not much decorating going on here.  Pinterest helps A LOT.  Time to go pin!

Oops!

So maybe I got lazy and forgot to update my blog. That's my bad. So let me catch you up a bit.  We made it to Fort Worth to see Sherri!!!! SO awesome! We may have watched 6 hours of Little Women ATL.  If you don't know what that is GOOGLE IT.  You won't be unsatisfied.

Sherri has 2 Aussie Shepards.  Small but super cute dogs.  Very interested in Mittens.  Mittens didnt care about them though.  She was pretty much done with the trip by the time we got to Fort Worth.

Sherri was nice enough to take us to a lake to relax and get some sun.

Maybe too much sun for me.......

We also watched UFC 200. Which was awesome.

Next stop Magnolia Texas to visit my Grandma.  I'm really glad that we got to see her.  She's an amazing woman.  We also got to see my Aunt Patty who is my Grandma's bestfriend.  It used to be a small town.  Now they seem to everything.
Even a Walgreens.

After visiting Grandma, it was a long day of driving to Alabama to visit my oldest sister.  I feel like we were on the road forever.  On our way through Birmingham to get to Trussville we ran into some nasty traffic.  Traffic we got to observe and not be in the middle of.  It was like 5 miles of traffic.  With sooooooo many trucks! I think that's where trucks come from.

We met Chris' parents here in Warner Robins.  On Thursday we are going to switch hotels.  Someone asked me why and I honestly don't know.  One reason would be that the one we are at is across the street from a Walmart.  Good right? No. No its not.  Watson Blvd in Warner Robins is a busy busy road.  If I didn't tell you that's the road the hotel is on.  Its always busy.  Just so busy.  So we are moving farther down where it doesn't see that much traffic.  Well you're all caught up on the long long journey to get to Georgia. I hope you weren't disappointed in all the pictures you didn't see.

#NaughtyMittens

We've hit a turning point with the #CarKitty.  She's realized she's in a truck for long periods and does not like it.  Calm down medicine doesn't seem to work or she needs more.

She's everywhere!!!!!!!!!!!!

Last night I tried to take a really cute picture of her snuggling with Chris. I got one good pic:

And then I got this:

The true Mittens........

Utah-Wyoming-Colorado-Kansas-> Farms, farms and more farms.

The drive from Salt Lake into Oklahoma was boring.  Just completely boring.  I want to thank farmers of America for doing what they do best.  They really do an awesome job for us.  But a long distant drive between these states seems like forever.  But thank you again and again farmers!

There was some nice scenery in Utah and Wyoming.  I love Wyoming.  I don't know why but I do.  It's boring but I love driving through it. I decided to get a magnet, I love it so much.

GPS decided to take us down back roads of Kansas and Oklahoma to get to Enid.  Little town America is awesome and adorable.

The heat is turning up closer and more south we get.  I feel like I can't breathe.  I don't know how I'll survive in Georgia.  I might melt.

#CarMittens

I tried to tell you there would be another one.  And there is! She didn't get any calm down medicine today, so she was little more adventurous AKA she was in everyones way.  She wanted to be here there and everywhere. Good thing she's cute.

Not sure how she's going to feel about this warm weather.  So far she seems fine but when we get to Georgia we might need a new haircut.

Mittens! That is most unbecoming of a lady!!

Roadtrippin aint easy

Today we went through some of Oregon and the bottom of Idaho.  Very boring.  Sorry to anyone who loves Idaho or Oregon, but the parts I went through were just flat or farms.

On an upside, we found Sonic! It was amazing.  I dont know why but it was.  Maybe because we've been without for so long.  I'm sure we won't find it amazing after another 2 or 3 times.  I'm already over eating at fast food joints and restuarants.  I want real food.  I want to cook food.

We've also hit the HEAT. Holy cow was I not ready for this.  I'm definetly buying a pool when we get to Georgia because I might melt.

Tomorrow we go on past Denver to Limon, Colorado. Longer day but never as long as Canada days.  Night!
